Our Charter

The G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance Meeting, in Incheon, this 9th day of November 2010, recognizes that young entrepreneurs are powerful drivers of economic renewal, job creation, innovation and social change. We, the Members of the Alliance, recognize the need to bring together organizations from industrialized and developing economies to champion the cause of young entrepreneurs.

Building on our engagement at the June 2010 Toronto G20 Summit, we, the Members of the Alliance, commit to a long term engagement of the G20 as an extension of our missions to champion the cause of young entrepreneurs in our respective countries and across the globe. Through our global movement, we believe we can make the 21st century the Century of the Entrepreneur.

We, the Members of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance, have set forth the following Charter:

Who we are?

The G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (YEA) is a global network of young entrepreneurs and the organizations that support them. We have been established to convene each year in advance of the G20 Summit to champion the importance of young entrepreneurs to the G20 member nations and to share our own examples and practices.

Our Vision

We, the signatories of this Charter, envision:

  1. a network that, through its discussions with governments, the media, the public and each other, champions the cause of young entrepreneurs at the local, national and international level.
  2. an alliance of organizations from industrialized and developing economies that makes measurable progress towards its goal of a world where an increasing number of entrepreneurs grow businesses, create jobs, change lives and ensure future economic prosperity.
  3. a recognized body that exists as part of the official G20 process and is able to engage, contribute to and impact the findings of the G20 to raise awareness and address the issues of emerging entrepreneurs across the globe.

Our Beliefs

We, the signatories of this Charter, believe that:

  1. as entrepreneurs found their businesses and change their own lives, they are important contributors to social change, job creation and economic renewal.
  2. strengthening the support of entrepreneurs and providing opportunities for international cooperation will help foster economic growth and development across the globe.
  3. advocating the cause of emerging entrepreneurs and promoting their importance will prepare the next generation for the renewal and growth of our economies and societies.
  4. a recognized alliance of diverse organizations will empower our influence and legitimacy.
  5. supporting the dreams of these entrepreneurs is a top priority and should be an increasing priority for the governments of the G20.

Our commitment to Young Entrepreneurs

The signatories of this Charter, commit to:

  1. support and encourage young entrepreneurs across the globe.
  2. strengthen international cooperation and promote open and constructive discussion on key issues relating to the support and growth of young entrepreneurs.
  3. share information and resources among Members for the benefit of young entrepreneurs.
  4. engage the G20 and provide a forum for the discussion of issues found by young entrepreneurs.
